Letter to Customers and Friends:
Imagine for a moment you were given an enforced six-week reprieve from the carrousel of your career. Due to circumstances beyond your control, the darn thing just wheezed and shuddered to a full stop. You are left suddenly high and dry with your mental marbles still spinning and a loud happy sing song waltz in your head which won’t go away. After a few days your balance sort of returns and your ears have a steady ring, but organized thought is somehow beyond your grasp, let alone a re-evaluation of your professional goals.
I have been through just such an adventure and am now on the other side. I have investigated what’s totally true in all the well-meant platitudes I received from caring friends and colleagues. One piece of advice rang bell-clear; “The chance to step back, re-think priorities, and potentially start anew should be treated as a luxury.” This really appealed to my greedy pleasure-seeking nature.
Five months later, transformed and incredibly happy about it, I write to you with really great news. Drum roll and splash cymbal please. The New Telos emerges; phoenix – fresh and significantly improved. What’s changed? I’m glad you asked.
Thanks to a strategic alignment with Commercial Recording Studios, one of the finest audio recording and post-production facilities in North America, I have amazing almost magical new resources. Better looking video for your pictures, true High Definition in elegantly anamorphic 16 x 9. (You really need to see this, it will blow you away! We don't even use tape anymore, it all goes on to a chip!) Dolby Digital 5.1 Stereo mixing for your soundtracks. Forty five thousand music CD’s to choose from right across the hall. DVD authoring and duplication. All new, state-of-the-moment, editing gear and a new office suite to match, which looks like it came off the pages of American Cinematographer by way of Elle Décor.
Most importantly, I have an entire team of young and energetic production professionals with special skills for our projects. We have a web designer for your Internet needs, Sound Designers, Audio Recordists, an extremely talented Director of Photography, Sound and Video Editors, Information Technology Specialists; all on “hot stand by” waiting to jump on your project. I feel like I have died and gone to heaven.
